My name is Gail and I have been renting to international students from around the world since 1996. I have provided some with meals and others have chosen to buy their own food. I enjoy running a home stay and my house is very comfortable. The bedrooms and common areas are quite spacious. The location of my home is 15-20 minutes from downtown, within walking distance to the bus (10 min) and in a beautiful neighborhood. All I ask of students is to respect my home as if it is their own and to be considerate of other students in the home. I have traveled the world visiting previous students (Germany, Spain, France, Mexico, etc.) and students often return to BC to visit me with their families. There are many local tourist/sight seeing attractions (Ambleside beach and seawall, Grouse Mountain, Cleveland Dam, Lonsdale Quay, Lynn Canyon, etc.) that students visit that are in close proximity of my home. I love spending time with my family (2 sons, 8 grandchildren), cooking, listening to music and watching soccer (World Cup FIFA). My previous students appreciate my humor and lightheartedness. I am a consultant that facilitates a variety of workshops and I have also worked internationally with Four Worlds International Institute for Human and Community Development.

We have been in homestay business for more than 10 years. Our family lives in the east side of Vancouver near Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). We enjoy the lively, festival atmosphere every year during the summer. We live in an 8 bedroom house on a quiet neighborhood. Our home is near downtown Vancouver and has 3 three bus lines running every five minutes. The bus stop is a half block away or a 3 minute walk. If you catch the SFU bus, you will be downtown in 15 minutes. The Hastings Community center, which has a tennis court and a water fountain park is 5 minutes away. We also have the Dr. A. Lord Elementary School nearby, and it also has a large playground. The public library is a 10 minute walk away. We offer 3 meals, serviced laundry and free internet access. We are friendly and caring family. The homestay Mom loves to bake, cook good food and take pride to serve. We serve our student at our best. You are most welcome to join us. Hi! Welcome to Vancouver, Canada! We are a family of five consisting of mom, dad and three boys. Hosting is something we are very familiar with because we have been hosting for the last 20 years. Our past students have been from a vast variety of different countries and we have learned many different cultures from all of them It has been a very fun and rewarding experience. As a family we like to enjoy the great outdoors by going on walks or hikes. We also enjoy sightseeing and doing a sporting events with our students. Our family enjoys multi cultural foods from all over the world because our mom is a chef and she likes to cook different kinds of food for us to try. She is also an English teacher so that can help with learning and practising English. We live in a modern and spacious home that allows us to enjoy activities such as watching movies in our big living room or having some friends over for some food and drinks or even just hanging out with some board games and enjoying each other‘s company. Our house is also conveniently located close to transit that goes directly to downtown or other amenities. We are also centrally located around five different parks in the neighbourhood and three schools within walking distance. We would love to have you come stay with us and jso we can share our Canadian culture with you while you share your country culture with us!

Hello and welcome to Vancouver, Canada! We are a family of three including mom, dad and our daughter. Hosting is something we are familiar with as Kevin has been a guardian of multiple students for many years as my parents have hosted international students for the past 20 years. Our past students we hosted with were from a wide range of different countries. As our students were from around the world, we learned a lot about different cultures and traditions from each of these students that have been very rewarding and fun experiences to be a part of. As a family, we enjoy going on walks to enjoy the outdoors, or to one of the many parks and trails that are scattered throughout the city. We also enjoy hikes, barbecues and sporting events with students. Our family enjoys multicultural food as there is many options for different types of food in the restaurants and different options from the market to make at home, so trying new food is common for us. Emma was an exchange student from Taiwan, so she is able to share a lot of similar experiences to help new students adjust and enjoy their time here in Vancouver. With her experience in learning English while living here, we feel it’s helped new students learn English faster by having someone who is multilingual and able to translate hard to understand language from English to Mandarin, Taiwanese or Korean. We live in a well designed modern house which allows us to have a great living room space downstairs to watch TV or play board games together while enjoying family time. Our house has endless options of restaurants, parks, shopping markets within walking distance that is very appealing to us and many of our past students. We are also conveniently located near multiple transit options which can take you downtown or to the wide array of malls around us. We would love to have you stay with us so we can share our Canadian culture with you and allow us to have an opportunity to learn about your culture and traditions!
