Hi there - I am an experienced teacher who has lived in China for 10 years and who understands the learning and safety needs of international students. I have 3 daughters ranging from 12 - 17 years who live with me and who are very used to having guests in our house. We have hosted homestay students from Japan and Korea mainly for over 4 years so we are very aware of the need for connection and a true 'family' away from home. We understand the value that Homestay students provide our households with, so we benefit from the friendship and global perspectives. I am able to offer extra English lessons if that is required or we are able to cater to Asian or South American students looking for a safe private room, quality meals, and a warm, welcoming environment. My children are very warm and welcoming and they each understand how to make a guest in our home truly feel apart of our family. My family and I have traveled throughout Europe and Asia and so we are globally minded and are very well versed in Asian cooking styles also. We live just a 5-minute walk to the Skytrain in south Burnaby and are a 10-minute trip to Metrotown, a 30-minute one-way trip downtown Vancouver or 20 minutes to Central Surrey heading east. We are a very active household as my girls all play sports, enjoy the outdoors and I am an avid mountain biker, open water swimmer, and a competitive Triathlete who competes in various events in Spring through late Summer. We welcome you to our house and would be happy to show you some of the best that Greater Vancouver has to offer.
